My Magnum Opus: Textures of a Southern Soul {a Gullah Geechee Soul} (Vol 1)

NEW MUSIC OF THE CAROLINA COAST & GULLAH GEECHEE CORRIDOR

Mahoganee writes and performs a sonic journey of timeless music composed by her husband André (Mr. BounceBack) Amigér inspired by the Gullah Geechee culture of the southeastern Sea Islands and Corridor. Songs of Da Wada, Black Love, Black Land Justice, Afrofuturism, Time Travel, a Self Love Mantra, Carolina Jazz, Blues with a lil but of funk can all be found on her latest release “Textures of a Southern Soul” (a Gullah Geechee Soul). 

Textures of a Southern Soul (a Gullah Geechee Soul) (Vol. 1) was cooked like a good pot of geechee collard greens and cornbread. Inspired by my Culture, it’s about Family, Food, Gardens, Land , Water, Ancestral Mathematics, Self Love, Acknowledging the Pain and Healing, Home, Time Travel through Memory, Portals to Escape, Elixirs made from Laughter and Love, Indigo and the true Carolina Gold of my home South Carolina. Special Recognition goes to Summerton, Souf Cak where I was I born, St. Helena Island, SC where I was re-born, Walterboro, SC where my creativity was given a space to bloom and Washington DC the place that gave birth to my husband Andre aka Mr. BounceBack, home of Go-Go and where I spent many family vacations visiting my up-top family. 

Music has always inspired Change and shifted the World. The positive end of the spectrum is my wheelhouse and so I wish that a continuum of good vibes will penetrate your SouL as you listen to my new music. 

Learning about my Gullah Geechee heritage and culture has been transformative and has given me strength and courage in ways I didn’t even know I needed, I’m forever grateful. 

All of the music compositions were created and cultivated by my husband, Andre "Mr. BounceBack" Amiger. He is a synesthete 3X Stroke Survivor. Each song has a different feel and footprint that gives life to the different textures of my being and my soul.
